BUSA 2016: Exeter take Silver

BUSA/BUCS Finals saw Exeter 1s and 2s compete in some fantastic racing at Grafham Sailing Club. The event provided an array of conditions from very light winds to 20+ knots. The event followed the swiss league system, which resulted in some very interesting racing, with both teams fighting very hard for every win.

After two and a half days of racing and a very strong start, the 2s unfortunately did not progress to the quarter finals, finishing 17th overall. The 1s made it to the quarters, where they beat Southampton Blue 2-0 to progressing to the Semis where they beat Cambridge 2-0. Exeter 1s faced Cambridge Blue in the finals for best out of 5 races. Whilst they started well winning the first race 1,3,4 unfortunately Cambridge went on to win the next 3 races to carry the title. The silver medal the team won is the first medal at the BUSA Team Racing Championships.
