Exeter Red & Yellow were at Swansea spartan. There was light wind all weekend which made the racing quite tricky. There was some intense paddle races and some racing with some success. Tobias Petit, captain of the third team, said they had a lot to take away from this weekend for preparations for Cardiff next weekend.

Freya Anderson, yachting captain, took a number of EUSC sailors keel boat at Royal Southern Yacht Club. Again, light winds made sailing very tricky. Due to these light winds, the team didn’t make it to the racing in time for the start. Freya explained how they maximised this time, ‘we focused on boat handling and boat speed by doing some tacking upwind together and then gybing at the same time downwind. Saturday showed quite a big improvement on the smoothness of hoists and drops and sunday was more focused on lightwind gybes which was equally as successful’.

On Saturday, the clubs first SUPER SATURDAY took place. The aim of this was to get as many casual members out sailing in one day. A coach took 45 members to Roadford for a day of sailing and fun. Everyone got a chance on the water, beginners got to learn the basics and advanced sailors got to practice their skills. Ella Thomas, Casual Captain, was very happy with how the day went and hopes to organise more super Saturdays in the future.
